Since I made the big announcement, I have gotten several of the same questions so I thought I would put the questions here along with my answers to catch everyone up.
1. How far along are you?
I will be 8 weeks tomorrow and have my first doctor's appointment on Tuesday. The online due date calculator has my due date as February 15th but I will go with what Dr. Callison calculates on Tuesday.
2. Are you as sick as you were with Wyatt?
I am a HOT MESS. If you knew me during my first pregnancy, you know that I had a bad case of "morning" sickness that lasted all day long until about week 14. So far, I am following the same pattern. Smells are the worst and send me running to a garbage can, sink, toilet - whatever I can get to first. The other morning I only made it to the sink. Wy was watching me and said "Move over Mama, I need to spit too." I am sleeping fine b/c I take a Phenergan and hit the bed early. So that is a positive. I am trying to focus on all positives b/c I am terrified if I think about how many more weeks of this I have to go. It does help to have Wyatt because he is a good distraction and I don't really have the option of dwelling on how I feel. Just got to get up and go with it.
3. What does Jeremy think? Didn't he just want one?
Jeremy and I had agreed that we would give it a try but that we would both be OK if we just had Wyatt. We weren't gonna stress about it and go to the ends of the earth to conceive. We decided to just keep it to ourselves in case it never happened. It took a better part of a year to conceive Wyatt so we figured it would take about a year this time, especially since I am "older." I had actually discussed it with Dr. Callison in March and she said she guessed it would take somewhere between 6 months to a year. So we were shocked when it happened the FIRST month. Ah, hello? We are kinda in the middle of building a house and living the Simple Life right now. Not exactly the timing I was going for but I definitely am not going to question it. I am just so surprised. Surprised but thrilled. Must be this love shack we are living in - bahahahahahahahahaha.
4. What does Wyatt think?
Well, he is 3 so most days I don't think he even remembers that I am going to have a baby. Every once in a while, something happens that jogs his memory and he will say something about it. Of course he comes up with some interesting questions like the morning we told him he was going to be a big brother.
Wy: Mama, what color is the baby going to be?
J: BLACK!
Me: Jeremy! Stop! Honey, the baby is going to be the same color as you.
I don't really know where he was going with that other than he might have thought we were going to have a YouYou?
Later I was trying to explain to him that it was going to take some time before the baby got here. He looked at Jeremy and in a very serious tone like he has all the experience in the world, he says "Dada, this is gonna take some time. It is gonna take some time before the baby gets here." Jeremy just looked at him and said "I know son. This isn't my first rodeo."
5. Any cravings so far?
Lots of fresh fruit especially strawberries and pineapple; nacho cheese doritos which I have NEVER liked before now; KFC mashed potatoes with gravy. Not into any kind of meat whatsoever.
So I will know more after my appointment on Tuesday. Thanks so much for all the comments and excitement over our news. I can't wait to feel better so I can get back to my normal routine.

Flashback Friday
I have some pictures from our trip down to Birmingham last week to the McWane Center BUT... I can't find the darn cord I need to download said pics so... in an attempt to update my blog from the Train Ride from 2 weeks ago I will go with a Flashback Friday post.
This is little Wyatt last summer at this time. I heart his hair - the little bowl cut. And while he still has not ever had the clippers used on the top of his head, it has been cut short and in a big boy style so I miss this look. This is also when his first freckles were making their debut across his little face.

Check out his little man-pris

still loves to help Dada mow

Sigh...I love my boys...

All Aboard!
This past Saturday I took Wyatt for his first official train ride. The North Alabama Train Museum, that is located on Chase Road, does monthly train rides from April - December each year. Most have some sort of a theme. They have an Easter Bunny ride in April, a Halloween ride in October, and at least 4 Santa rides in December. Since Father's Day is celebrated in June, the theme for this ride was Fathers.
I invited my parents and the other 3 boy cousins to come along: Carter, age 6, Jack, age almost 5, and David Aaron, age almost 5. Since J and the other dads could not go due to life stuff, we celebrated my Dad, their Papa.

I have to say I really did enjoy it. I think mainly because I loved watching my boy get so excited about something. He hearts trains. And not just the Thomas and Friends stuff. He will watch anything that has to do with trains. Even the History Channel clips about steam engines, locomotives, diesel engines, etc. that I find on YouTube when Mama needs a minute to herself.
But anyway, back to the train ride. Apparently everyone else in the Huntsville area is on to the monthly train rides because it was a sold out trip. People ranged in age from infant to their 90's. The "conductor" came around and punched everyone's ticket. The boys were all about having their own ticket and handing them to the conductor. Wyatt actually held on to his just about the whole time.

The ride was about an hour and 20 minutes. You could stay in your seats or move from car to car. They had a souvenir area where my mom bought them each a little something. They also had several areas about 4 ft in length where they had cut out the wall and put up a little fence like barrier.

Wy wanted to stand there almost the whole time. If not there, we went to the front of the train, right behind the engine where he could stick his head out the side and watch the engineer.
I think we will definitely go back for another ride. The cars are air conditioned but there aren't any bathrooms so if you have little ones or little bladders, be sure to go before you climb aboard! I made sure Jack went before hand (he is our little bladder boy) and he made this funny comment on the way out of the restroom. As he passed me he said very matter-of-fact like "one squirt ought to do it." And I am happy to report that it did. :)

Notice Wy is still holding on to that ticket!

Fore!
J, Wy, and I went by the driving range yesterday afternoon so J could get some practice swings in before his golf tournament today. After about 5 minutes of watching, Wyatt decided that he wanted to try. So Jeremy pushed some balls over in the area next to him and let him play with one of his clubs. After a couple of minutes, a nice lady came over and let Wyatt use a child's size club which was much easier for him to handle. And I have to say, I was pretty impressed with his swing and his ability to hit the ball considering he is only 3!
Getting the tee just right...

Here comes his swing...

He did it!
(Look closely at the club and you'll see the ball in the air)

I'll have one day out with Wyatt, hold the sugar coating please.
Disclaimer: After reading this post, you may have negative feelings about my son and my parenting ability...but I am sharing it anyway!
With the all consuming house stuff, I decided to take Wyatt out for a day of fun. He has been dragged to every home improvement store you could imagine - plumbing, lighting, brick, cabinets - you name it, he has been subjected to it. I called my mom and asked her to come along to Build-A-Bear. I have never taken Wyatt there as I was a bit skeptical. But I thought he would really get into the whole "do it yourself" part.
We get to the mall and I walk him towards the Build-A-Bear store - the one I have always done my best to rush him by in the past for fear that he would see it and want to go in. I am just so proud of myself for thinking up this fun day. I don't know what I was expecting - maybe a smile, maybe a rush towards the bin of lifeless animal bodies, a screech of joy - you know, something to communicate that he sure was glad it wasn't another home improvement store. So I did the whole "look, you can pick out an animal and then we can fill it up, and blah, blah, blah."
He looked at me and said "I want to ride the escawator."
Nice - he had zero interest in the whole shebang.
But I pressed on. I showed him the machine that has all the various sounds you can choose to add to your animal.

That got him to momentarily forget about the "escawator". He was perfectly content to stand there and press all the buttons. Didi and I saw that he wasn't really going to run with this so we "helped him" with his decisions which in reality was "Just grab the freaking monkey and the monkey sound piece."
Then the SUPER sweet girl who worked there went through her spiel about the tracking ID and tried every trick in the book to get some excitement out of the Prince. He didn't want to rub the heart to get it warm and he didn't want to jump up and down to get it started.
But he did press the foot pedal to get the stuffing into the monkey.

In a last ditch effort, I tried to get him to pick out an outfit for the monkey. Hello? Why was I so determined to waste more money? But he didn't care about outfits or any of the hundreds of accessories either. He was now back to wanting to ride the "escawator" so he got a naked monkey and that is it.

Both of us were glad to be done!

So we rode the escalator down to the bookstore where we had some more tense moments with him as he was being impatient while we were looking at books for him. He wanted to ride the blasted cement truck toy thing that they put out to make parents' trips to the mall more difficult. Seriously, I never see kids on them. I see parents dragging their kids past them and saying "not now, we don't have time or I don't have any money" which is the line I use.
But his sweet Didi gave him 75 cents and in his one redeeming moment of the day, he went up to Didi and told her thank you without being prompted by me. So he rides the truck and we leave the mall and go to meet my dad for lunch. I won't bore you with the details of that but I ended up with Wyatt in the bathroom threatening him to straighten up or ELSE!
Then we took him to Across the Pond which is an awesome gardening, patio, landscaping, cool house items kind of place that also has a building with huge fish you can feed. Finally, something he enjoyed and he was semi-well-behaved.

I know this is a long post but I have one more story to share. My parents wanted to come up to the land and see the house since they had almost finished with the brick. Wyatt wanted to ride with them. His big thing right now is "beating you or racing you." So I wasn't surprised when my mom passed me and I saw his little smiling face pop up in her back window. He was thrilled that they were winning.
So we get to the land and my mom has a story to share. Each time Wy would lean up and over to look out the back window, his Didi would have to remind him to sit down on his bottom. (He rides in a booster using the lap & shoulder belt) At one point he tried to take a leg out from the seat belt part. Didi sternly told him to sit down and put both legs under the seat belt. He was not complying in a timely fashion. So my mom says:
"Wyatt, do I need to pull over and have a talk with your Mama?"
And he says:
"Well...
...you can talk to Jesus."
WHAT IN THE WORLD? I do not know where he comes up with this stuff.
I am hoping that it is because he understands that you can indeed talk to Jesus.
But I have a sneaking suspicion it may have something to do with me telling him on several occasions over the course of his little life that we were about to have a "come to Jesus meeting."
Time for Mama to pick a new phrase. At least my parents thought it was humorous and not blasphemous! That is always a plus!
