Can I get a Woo Woo?

We are making decisions right and left about the house - not the old one, not the one Poppy sold, not the Simple Life "dwelling" - but the one we are slowly, but surely, building. And yes, it does feel like we are physically building it.

I like to visit "the land" daily as it makes living the Simple Life bearable. Which, by the way, I am now entering week 9 - can I get a woo woo? It seems like just yesterday I was wallowing in self pity about storms, mice, and thin burgundy shag carpet on concrete floors.

The masons/brick layers started this weekend - actually two days early. Can I get another woo woo?

I am relieved that I still love the brick now that it is slapped on the side of our house. You never know what it will actually look like just by looking at one of those little sample boards.

You Be, I Be

One of Wyatt's favorite games is "You Be, I Be"

It usually goes something like this:

You be Carter and I be Jack.
or
You be Simba and I be Scar.

Well yesterday it went like this:

Wy: You be the dead kangawoo

Me: What?

Wy: You be the dead kangawoo

Me: The dead kangaroo?

Wy: Uh huh, hit by a caw

Me: Dead kangaroo hit by a car?

Wy: mashed on the woad

Me: You want me to be a dead kangaroo hit by a car mashed on the road?

Wy: Uh huh

Me: Okay....

And while I was doing my best impression of that lovely image I heard his little voice say

"And I be the vulcha" (vulture)

Oh, right - now the dead kangaroo hit by a car mashed on the road portrayal makes total sense.

School's Out for the Summer!

Today was Wyatt's last day at his Mother's Day Out program that he attends.

He seemed happy about it.



This is the infamous TAN shirt that I had to go seek out and buy because the teacher stated that he needed to wear TAN - not brown. And I thought it really mattered and had to follow the rules - for a 5 minute school program.

The program was entitled "The Animal Train" which was pretty cute. Wyatt was wisely cast as the monkey. All he had to do was stand there and wait for the train to come by him. Then he said "Stop Train Stop! I want to ride!" Then the narrator would have the animals join the train and they would go down the line and say their sound i.e. ooh, ooh, aah, aah.

The lighting wasn't great in the gymnasium but here are a few shots of my little monkey. Of course he would have looked more like a monkey had he actually worn the mask over his face instead of pushed on top of his head - but it is his portrayal, right?













Didi and Ditda were both there and afterwards we ditched the refreshments and headed over to Honey's on the square - famous for their pool room slaw and hamburger steak - yummy!

Visine - It Takes the Red Out

Last night Jeremy and I heard a loud bump while we were watching TV. It took us a minute to figure out that the bump was the sound of Wyatt rolling right off his bed. Jeremy peeked in his room and he was ASLEEP on the floor - curled up in a little ball. The child didn't even wake up when we moved him back into bed. I made sure he was breathing and just figured he was REALLY tired. So I put some pillows on the floor next to his bed in case he took another tumble.

This morning when Wy woke up, he noticed the pillows immediately and wanted an explanation. So I told him about his tumble and he decided to roll off the bed to see if the pillows worked. Well, they did soften his fall but this time he bumped his chin on the bed frame. He can be rather dramatic and gave a good cry even though there was not even a mark.

Then he decided he needed medicine for his chin. Insisted actually. Great - like I even had a clue as to where all the medicine was. I looked through the bucket of meds I brought over in the move but couldn't find any Neosporin.

But I did find Visine.

And it looks like medicine to a 3 year old.

So I very carefully applied 3 drops to his chin and he was better instantly.
