On the Road Again...

Wy is on Fall Break from his MMO this week. Because we never knew when we would be *moving, we didn't plan a vacation for this fall. So, just to do something different, we headed up to the TN Aquarium for the day.


Wy refused to stand on the other end by the alligator head even though I assured him that he could not be bitten through the glass...

There were glass openings in the ceiling & throughout this cave area. Everytime we entered a new area, Wyatt would say very dramatically "Oh. My. Goodness." He had a great time and we had a great time watching him absorb it all.

* Yes, I am aware it is now OCTOBER. I do have good news - our hardwood floors are now stained...and they are beautiful. There was a major delay related to the floors as there was too much moisture in the wood so we had to wait until the moisture went down to have them stained. Left on the to do list: touch up paint, the final electrical inspection and final clean-up. Doesn't that sound like it could all be done by the end of next week? Yeah, I want to think so too but my new goal is Halloween.

Gotta love him! The 20 week ultrasound reminds me of that Skeletor character - it doesn't really look like a baby to me much less to a 3 year old. Once we found out the gender, Wy was content to look at his book or just have random chatter with J.

Everything looks right on target regarding his scan so that is great. Now just to think of names. Gotta think of something equally unique like Wyatt.

I do have some pictures from the day that I will post later on but for now, I am ready to go to bed. Like "they say" - you better sleep now. I hate that saying. Like you can store it up or something. Anyway, 20 weeks down, another 20 (max) to go!

Anger Management

I have been without a computer for the past week! Just a piece of advice for you to store away. If you find yourself pregnant, living the Simple Life, fearing you are never going to be living the High Fallutin Life, and your husband makes you mad - DO NOT SLAM DOWN THE CLOSEST THING YOU HAVE ACCESS TO - like a MacBook computer.

Oh yeah, I threw a fit and it cost me. But thankfully the nice Apple people were able to fix it for me after I explained that it started messing up and I had no idea why. So I am back and just in time.

Tomorrow is the much anticipated 20 week ultrasound. And while most of you will receive a phone call from me, and my mother will get a personal face to face announcement, I am still going to post it here for the few readers I have that I don't have any other way to communicate with.

Everyone from close friends to the man at the pedicure place have told me that it is indeed a girl. And while I appreciate their insight, I think I will see what the ultrasound shows before I make any purchases. Can't wait to share our news.

Weekend Getaway - Football & Friends

This weekend we went to the Alabama football game and a surprise birthday party for Jan, one of my dearest friends.

We went down to B'ham Friday night - in the rain - so we had less of a drive the next day since it was an early game. It was after 7 before we got to B'ham and I begged Jeremy to take me by the Summit so I could run in The Pea in a Pod to get a pair of jeans. Then we had a good dinner at the Tavern before heading back to the hotel - in the rain.

We were totally prepared to watch the game in the rain on Saturday. We each had a rain coat and I had a poncho too to cover our legs. Didn't see the reason for sunscreen so we didn't take it - big mistake. It did rain the entire way there that morning until about 5 minutes before we got to the stadium. Then the sun came out and it was H O T. That muggy hot where the humidity makes it hard to breathe. First thing I did when we got to our seats was yank up my curling, frizzy hair in a rubber band.



We had really good seats about 30 rows up from the bottom on the 40 yard line. Thankfully it was overcast most of the game with the occasional breeze or I don't think I would have been able to stay. No sunscreen and denim capris - not a good combo after all. Oh, and the t-shirt I was wearing - a maternity tee ordered online by my sweet hubby. He thinks of everything.

We left in the 4th quarter since it was a complete blow out. Then we got cleaned up and headed over to my friend Jan's house for her surprise 5- uh, 45th birthday. :) Her husband Dale got her out of the house for the day by telling her he was building her something at the house for her birthday. He set up tents in the backyard - again, due to rain - and had a great band, delicious food and drinks (most of which I couldn't partake of), and lots of her family and old friends. She was totally surprised - as you can see!





I mean he had childhood friends, her suite-mate from college, her sisters, her children, ME - all the people who love her were there. Of course we watched more football all while celebrating and the Auburn game was definitely alot more exciting than the Bama one.

As much as I missed Wyatt, I would have loved to stay in B'ham another day to shop and well, just not be living the Simple Life. I am in the "can't talk about it" house phase. It is painfully slow even with progress being made. It is looking like an October move in date. At least the weather will be cooler for moving, right?

Just wanted to give you all a quick update on Miss Clara You Mei. She is doing SO WELL. She has gained about 5 pounds in the last 6 months since her heart surgery. At the beginning of the summer, Erica had to roll these shorts in order for them to stay up. Yes, tiny for her age but she has made amazing progress. Erica still updates her site every so often so you can check that for detailed medical info.

Grandparent's Day

Today was Grandparent's Day at Wy's school. They invited all the grandparents of the children to come and have lunch with their grandchildren. 3 out of 4 of Wy's grandparents work, so only his Ditda (J's mom) was able to attend.

It was really sweet to see all the children come into the room, spot their grandparent(s), and make a mad dash for them with big smiles on their faces.

Bump Watch - 16 weeks

Yay!!! I have made it to 16 weeks. So what's new?

I am feeling good the majority of the time instead of feeling sick the majority of the time so that is great.

I am so busy thinking about moving into our house that the time is flying by - I can't believe I have already hit 16 weeks.

We are still not living in the new house but we are getting oh so close. Everyone told us that once you move to the inside details, it goes so slow - and they were right.

But more about the house on another post - see what I mean? It just totally takes the spotlight.

We will be finding out the baby's gender at our next appointment - October 1st. Wondering if I should take Wyatt with us? Anyone do that with a second or third child? Everyone keeps asking me what I think the baby is and I really have no idea. I really thought Wyatt was a girl and was wrong. This time around I really just don't have a clue. There are reasons I would love a boy and reasons I would love a girl. Like every expecting parent, I just want a healthy baby and a safe delivery.

I get a weekly email from Babycenter and it sends a picture/drawing of what the baby probably looks like each week. And Wyatt thinks that picture is actually our baby. He just laughs and says "Oh my goodness." He is still determined for the baby's room to be upstairs next to him. He may change his tune once the little one makes his/her debut!

Tonight at dinner he said he wanted "a baby gurl...like YouYou...with a white bow in her hair." See Erica, he does love her! Then he said "and I'm gonna buy herh a neckwace." And I got all teary at the thought of my boy loving his little sibling. I know - get a grip.
